A 9-year ovarian cancer survivor is currently a Research Advocate with the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) and a facilitator in the Survivors Teaching Students® educational program. She has been a member of the OCRA Advocate Leaders program since it began in 2012 and became a mentor in 2018.
In 2013, Marcie became a consumer reviewer for the U.S. Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Research Program (DoD OCRP). She also serves as a Patient Advocate with the RPCI-UPCI (Roswell Park Cancer Institute and University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute) Ovarian Cancer SPORE (Specialized Programs of Research Excellence) and PCORI (Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute).
On the state level, Marcie was instrumental in building the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA) Partner Member, the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance, where she served as Vice President from the time it was established in 2011 until 2014. She currently serves on the Michigan Cancer Consortium Clinical Trials Working Group, as well as the co-chair of the Karmanos Cancer Institute Patient and Family Advisory Council (KPFAC) and Karmanos Cancer Advocacy Program (KCAP).
Professionally, Marcie is a diversified media veteran working in video, television and experiential marketing. She is currently the Executive Producer at Running with Scissors Worldwide, a post-production studio in Detroit, Michigan.
